Hailing from around the 1910’s, this iteration of the iconic military Pea Coat has been brought to us be the good people at Buzz Rickson’s Crafted from a 36 ounce melton wool, this heavyweight offering from the brand is dense and warming, with a smooth handle which doesn’t irritate the skin in the same was as mid century versions.
Ten specially developed bakelite buttons have been added to the design, all of which boast the traditional 13 star motif which was originally intended to represent the thirteen colonies after achieving independence. Twin hand warmer pockets have been lined with a warming, thick wale corduroy, while a wide, rigid collar shape provides essential protection from the elements. This timeless design has never been far from the forefront in menswear, and this is one of the best options we’ve been able to find, for quality and authenticity.
